A Free EV Car Show and Information Session
The Energy Use and Climate Change Commission of the Town of Hamden is planning a “live” in-person event on 26 September 2020, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the Miller Public Library.
In addition, we encourage everyone to join the national online “NDEW Kick-Off Event” on 24 September:

Learn about the electrifying future of transportation and why your next car, truck or SUV will be an EV! There is no need to wait: the future is already here!
Live, In-Person EVent at Miller Public Library
For the third consecutive year, our live, in-person 2020 EVent will be held at the Miller Public Library on 26 September, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Because of safety precautions related to the pandemic, this event will be scaled down compared to previous years.
Experienced EV owners will display their EVs and will discuss why they are enthusiastic about their all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles and how they use them on their daily commutes and longer distance drives, as well as how they charge the cars’ batteries.
Owners of EVs and plug-In hybrid vehicles are encouraged to register for this live event and to bring their vehicles for all or part of the event. Start by clicking on the "Participate" button above. We encourage attendees (non-owners of EVs or plug-in hybrids) to register for this event by clicking on the “RSVP” button above; you will receive updates about the event.
Participants will learn about the differences between electric vehicles and conventional gas-powered cars (including why EVs are much less expensive to operate and maintain), the widespread locations and different types of charging stations, the wide range of EV models available now and the much wider range of EVs to be released in the near future. The event will also highlight the benefits of electric vehicles for the environment and for public health.
Attendees will receive informational handouts and will also learn about special savings programs for Connecticut EV drivers, including state rebates and federal tax credits, for purchasing and leasing electric vehicles.
Safety Measures for Live, In-Person EVent:
In compliance with state health requirements, participants must wear face masks and maintain “social distancing” with a six-foot radius. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
