Event Report
We opened the event with Satellite Beach Vice Mayor Steve Osmer reading the official city proclamation. The Kennedy Space Center dropped off their lunar rover to put on display - everyone forgets that it is an electric vehicle too! A DIY electrified Austin Healey was also on display. Even after Hurricane Irma made finding food supplies and generators hard to find we still had two food trucks, Coastal Kitchen and Good Moos with much needed ice cream and smoothies to cool down from the hot sun. All attendees loved the free raffle prizes like Hot Wheels Teslas, die cast BMW i3 and i8, and other Schneider Electric water bottles, lunch boxes and tumblers that were drawn every 15-20 minutes. Since we had 42 EVs (some showing up and leaving at different times to work on hurricane clean up) we had to use a drone to get a good picture of it all. All attendees agreed it was a lot of fun, educational, we should do this more often and probably not around hurricane season!
