Tucson Takes Part in National Drive Electric Week with 3 Events

The Tucson Electric Vehicle Association and Tucson Clean Cities are celebrating the Fifth Annual National Drive Electric Week with multiple events to highlight the fun, clean-air benefits, and cost-savings of electric cars (EV’S) during the week of September 10-18.  See the history of the electric car while watching a movie in the air conditioned library and ask questions from a panel of presenters afterwards. Join us later in the evening at our booth at 2nd Saturdays to enjoy the street fair scene while getting up close and personal with EV’s and their drivers. You can also see a display of the most popular EV’s during a week-long event at the Tucson Mall including: Nissan Leaf, Tesla, BYD, and a Zero Motorcycle!


SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10

Movie Revenge of the Electric Car” Noon-1:30 Joel D. Valdez Library, downtown, followed by Panel Discussion “Plug in Your Next Car” 1:35 -3:30 pm., and later…

2nd Saturday’s downtown:  Booth and Electric Vehicle Display 7-10 pm.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 11- SUNDAY 18

Tucson Mall: Electric Vehicles on display and Presentation with Drawings for SWAG Saturday, September 17th noon - 2pm.

Tucson’s event is one of more than 100 across the country where electric vehicle owners and their neighbors hold electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, recognition of leaders promoting EVs, launches of new public EV charging stations and other public events.

About the Tucson Electric Vehicle Association (TEVA): TEVA is a local group of electric vehicle (EV) owners and enthusiasts who advocate for electric transportation in Southern Arizona. TEVA was founded in 1990 and is formed as a chapter of the Electric Auto Association. The group meets on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9 am to 11 am at the University of Arizona Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., in one of the meeting rooms off of the cafeteria. About Tucson Clean Cities, a program of PAG: The Pima Association of Governments manages Tucson Clean Cities, a voluntary program of the U.S. Department of Energy.
