Event Description

A Parallel World  “Fiesta Sustainability Showcase.”

Test Drive the Latest Plug-in Cars

Santa Fe based “AParallelWorld.com,” (APW) is an exciting new web platform offering information, resources and vendors to help Americans make an easier transition to a sustainable (or Parallel) lifestyle. AParallelWorld.com is hosting its second annual sustainability showcase on Fiesta Saturday, September 10th, at the Scottish Rite Ballroom, from 12 noon to 5 pm, followed by a benefit concert by Club West’s original Motown Review Featuring Teri Diers from 6:30 -10 pm.

This unique Sustainability Showcase offers vendors and consumers alike a chance to sample fabulous organic and local foods, test drive the latest electric cars, enjoy one-on-one information on the latest transitional technologies including solar energy, plug-in cars, hydroponics, organic gardening, local banking, local newspapers, independent broadcasting and others. There will also be a new local community seed exchange, peddicab rides, activities for the whole family, and contests all day with great prizes.

A Parallel World is the brainchild of local green developer Alan Hoffman, who has a 30 year history of designing and marketing energy efficient homes and communities in the Santa Fe area. "I’m truly excited to launch this unique web platform right in my hometown. APW is a one-stop site helping folks save money, protect our planet and join a like-minded community of people making the transition to a sustainable, healthy life.”

Any business that helps people transition from old destructive systems like coal, oil GMOs, too-big-to-fail banks or toxic home products has earned a free listing in the APW Marketplace. Any vendor with a complete vendor listing is invited to display their printed material at the Fiesta Showcase as our guest. Floor displays are also available to APW Vendors.

Adds Hoffman. “Santa Fe’s progressive community chooses more organic, locally grown food; is replacing coal-fired electricity with roof top solar and many Santa Feans are switching to plug-in cars. Santa Fe is positioned to continue to lead the nation in the adoption of a sustainable lifestyle for everyone.”

APW will also sponsor a live music event at 6:30 that evening featuring the Original Club West Motown Review in the Scottish Rite Ballroom with Santa Fe’s biggest dance floor. Proceeds will benefit three local sustainability non-profit groups, Youth Works, the Santa Fe Farmers Market Institute and New Energy Economy.

The event is scheduled for Fiesta Day, Saturday September 10th, at the Scottish Rite Temple, 463 Paseo de Peralta, Santa Fe, from 12 noon 5 pm with music event from 6:30 10:00. Get updates at AParallelWorld.com. Tickets will go on sale for the music event in early August.
