Event Report

To increase exposure to the general public, we combed our event with our annual Durham Day festivities at a municipal park. As a result, we had a lot more foot traffic that last year and a lot more exposure of the electric vehicle category to the public. Several people reporting coming to the event for the sole purpose of learning about electric vehicles and sitting or driving some. Others simply passed by with kids and relatives and started conversations about their "next car" being a hybrid or all electric vehicle. Interestingly, this year there was only a single Tesla (vs 10 or more last year. Similarly, while 5 Nissan Leaf's signed up, only one arrived. BMW i3s and Chevy Volts were highly represented, Prius plug ins as well. We were disappointed not only that Tesla was a no show, but that our BMW dealership was unluckily out of i3s on the day of the event (the last one was purchased by an attendee of last year's NDEW event a week before!)
