Event Report

The DriveElectricVictoria event yesterday included 18 volunteer EVs representing nearly all automakers: Leaf, Soul, Tesla, Smart EV, BMW i3, Volt, MiEV, and a Toyota RAV4 EV. A big thank you to all the EV owners (and a few non-owners) who came out and volunteered their time to help educate people.

Highlights:
- Relaxed, positive, friendly atmosphere: multiple guests commented on how informative the event was — in fact a few people stated that they were now convinced their next car would absolutely be an EV
- Two families came out specifically because they are in the market now for an EV and felt the event was extremely timely
- Multiple guests commented on how much information they received in a non-intimidating way, and in what they termed was a “truthful environment".
- Weather much better than last year!!

EVs IN MOTION : Ride & Drive + EV Display -- See, ride in and drive the cars of the future... today! 

See the EVs 

- Take a close look at a variety of personally-owned production EVs
- Get straight answers to your questions from the owners
- Find out what EV ownership is really like!  
- No car dealers or salespeople on site except as guests
- Free event, volunteer-"driven"

You may find EV owners very passionate when sharing how easy, cheap, and fun it is to operate an EV!

Ride in an EV 

- Take a ride as a passenger in an EV driven by an owner/volunteer on a 5-10 minute drive, to *feel* the instant torque, quiet ride, and smooth acceleration, all making for a better drive or ride experience.
- Free event, volunteer-"driven"

Test Drive an EV 

- Take the wheel* and feel what it's like to drive an EV!  (Test drivers must be 25 years of age or older and present a valid BC driver’s license)
- Free event, volunteer-"driven"

* Subject to cars being available

WARNING! EV test drives often turn ordinary motorists into EV fanatics.

Not all EVs displayed will be available for test drives.

Test Drives are very popular and we have limited numbers of cars available, so there may be lineups.

Entire event is volunteer-"driven", and is free to attend and participate -- we can't say there's "no charge" because, well, all the cars have plenty of charge.

Note: although this page lists only 3 cars attending, we actually have at least 20 showing up - Tesla Model S, Nissan Leaf, Kia Soul, Chevrolet Volt, BMW i3, Smart EV, Mitsubishi MiEV, and a rare Toyota RAV4 EV.
