Event Report
The weather and venue were great this year, and the participants enjoyed a relaxing day sharing experiences with each other and visitors. New EV owners were able to get helpful tips from experienced owners and visitors were able to get straight answers from experienced EV owners. An information kiosk with posters and handouts offered information on EV design features and performance, EV charging infrastructure, and EV incentives to interested visitors. Demonstration rides and drives were given. We had a total of 24 vehicles at the show, with 19 models from 10 manufacturers including Tesla, GM, Ford, Rivian, Sondors, Nissan, Toyota, Kia, BMW, and Volkswagen. The types of vehicles in the show included BEVs, PHEVs and an electric motorcycle. Three area dealerships brought 7 vehicles. A few participants displayed vehicles in the show which had not been registered for the show, but these were great last-minute additions! The most interesting vehicle was probably the 1966 VW Beatle conversion. The vehicle generating the most excitement was a Hummer EV that demonstrated its crab walk capability while performing maneuvers in the parking lot! The highlight of the show was a prize drawing at the end of the show for a Wallbox Pulsar Plus 40A wall charger valued at $650, courtesy of Bill Robertson Nissan. This year's event showcased the growing selection of EVs with advanced features and capability that are now available to the public. Many thanks go to MCEVA members, Tri-City area EV owners, Bill Robertson Nissan, Overturf Motor Company, and Corwin Ford for enthusiastically showing their vehicles and spending time with visitors. Special thanks go to Bill Robertson Nissan for providing a free prize drawing for the event and to the REACH Museum for making their facility available and co-hosting this event with Mid-Columbia Electric Vehicle Association.
