Event Report

We had a successful EV Expo and Green Energy Fair. Sundog Solar brought their Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid and talked to people about rooftop solar, heat pumps and EV charging solutions they offer. Versant Power brought their new Chevy Silverado EV, part of their growing fleet of EV service vehicles. Downeast Community Partners brought their Chevy Bolt. Sipayik Elementary School brought their new fully electric school bus. We also had representatives from Efficiency Maine and Maine Climate Council giving out materials and discussing climate incentives available to Mainers and Maine’s climate action plans. We also had local organizations tabling and talking to participants, including Sunrise County Economic Council and Healthy Acadia Strengthen ME. We also had three local EV owners showing their Chevy Bolt, Tesla Model Y, and Nissan Leaf +. During the event we also had live music, food, art demos and kids activities as part of our 25th Anniversary Celebration.

Event Description

Join us during our 25th Anniversary Celebration for our first annual Downeast EV Expo & Green Energy Fair! Learn about EVs from local EV owners, and test drive a new EV! The expo is part of National Drive Electric Week, a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more.

Have you considered upgrading to an electric vehicle? Get all your questions answered, and experience all the benefits EVs have to offer from local EV owners! Owners will be showing their vehicles at the event, and will be available to discuss their experience and answer all your questions. Pratt Chevrolet will be showing the new Chevy Blazer EV and/or Hummer EV, and will be giving test drives to participants.

There will also be an opportunity to learn about rooftop solar, energy storage, heat pumps and home EV charging solutions from Sundog Solar! Efficiency Maine and Maine Climate Council will be at the event to share guides and information on all the federal and state incentives that are available for these new technologies.

Our Climate Response Coordinator, Dylan Pardue, has been an EV driver since 2021 and is knowledgeable in EV technology. They are organizing and participating in the expo, and will be available to answer any questions you have.

The event will also include live music and delicious food as part of our 25 Anniversary celebration, and free EV charging for the day. (Subject to availability of chargers, expo participants will be prioritized. There will be at least two Level 2 chargers available, and several Level 1 chargers.)
