Join the City of Alexandria at the Eco-City Festival, being held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm at NOVA Community College (NVCC), located at 5000 Dawes Avenue, in Alexandria, Virginia!

The Eco-City Festival is a FREE, family-friendly event where you can take part in fun games and activities to learn more about environmentally friendly practices and interesting programs happening in our community!

Leave your car at home!

Getting to the Eco-City Festival is easy with DASH, which is always FREE to ride. Take Line 31 to NVCC, which leaves from King Street Metro station every 15 minutes on Saturdays. Or take one of the supplemental express shuttles from King Street Metro to the event! Shuttles leave every 15 minutes.

There will be a bike valet on-site for those who want to bike to the event.

Event attendee parkingis available on the lower levels of the AP1 parking garage. Entrance to the lower levels is accessible on the East side of the structure via the Dawes Avenue and Netherton Drive intersection. Use the first parking garage opening to enter the garage's lower levels.  

To exit the garage, utilize the exit ramp on the West side of the parking garage, which will take you to Dawes Avenue when departing the Eco-City Festival. 

To access the Eco-City Festival, utilize any stairwell located towards the middle of the parking garage on the south side to make your way to the top level of the garage to access the Eco-City Festival, which can be found at the top of the garage and across Dawes Avenue using the pedestrian marked walkways.  

Please note that this garage has no elevator access; it is only stairwell access. Strollers, wheelchairs, and bikes may utilize the car entrance/exit routes to access Dawes Avenue and take the sidewalk and pedestrian crosswalks to access festival components. ADA parking is available in lot P5.  

ADA parking is availablein the P5 lot that can be accessed via Netherton Drive off of Dawes Avenue.  

To access the Eco-City Festival, make your way through the AA building from the ramp towards the middle of the parking lot and make your way through the building to the other two entrances to the north and west end of the building. Additional access is available via Dawes Avenue, where you can turn left to take the sidewalk and pedestrian crosswalks to access festival components found on either side of Dawes Avenue. The top-level access of the parking garage is ramp accessible from the pedestrian crosswalks along Dawes Avenue.  

Additional DASH and shuttle buseswill run from the King Street Metro to encourage eco-friendly transportation and will drop off and pick up event attendees via the Buses Only route on Bisdorf Drive.  

To access the Eco-City Festival, go out towards Dawes Avenue and utilize the sidewalks and pedestrian crosswalks to access festival components found on either side of Dawes Avenue.

Restrooms and Sensory Area are looked inside the AA building. Restrooms are conveniently located next to each main entrance to the building.
