ELECTRIFY THE RUN!
Join us on MAY 3, 4, 5, 2024 for the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona’s 35TH ANNUAL Historic Route 66 Arizona FUN RUN….and for the 2ND ANNUAL “ELECTRIFIED” Historic Route 66 Arizona FUN RUN sponsored by DRIVE Electric Arizona.
The annual Historic Route 66 FUN RUN is a 3-day display and drive event along a 140-mile stretch of original Route 66 in Arizona. It is the longest contiguous stretch of old Route 66 in the U.S. Events are planned in nearly every community along the way.
The FUN RUN begins on Saturday morning, May 4th at an early bird line up at dawn on Route 66 in Seligman, Arizona, and then departs at 9:30 AM. All vehicles should arrive at the Kingman Visitors Center by 3:00 PM for the SHOW N SHINE CAR SHOW if you want to be judged for awards. Stay tuned for more information.
History of the “Electrified” FUN RUN: At the 32nd RUN, there was a single entry in the EV field—a Tesla Model 3. At the 33rd RUN the following year, four EVs attended. Last year, at the 34th RUN, the Valley of the Sun Electric Vehicle Association, with the help of the national Electric Vehicle Association and the Route 66 Electric Vehicle Association, we expanded it to 30 electric vehicle entries! This was the first unofficial “Electrified” Historic Route 66 Arizona FUN RUN. This year, we want to eclipse that monumental achievement!
Since last year’s 1st “electrified” run, DRIVE Electric Arizona, a nonprofit Arizona corporation borne from the Valley of the Sun Electric Vehicle Association and sponsored by the DRIVE Electric USA initiative of the U.S. Department of Energy, has taken the RUN to the next level.
In addition, Saturday, May 4th of this year’s 35TH ANNUAL Historic Route 66 Arizona FUN RUN, DRIVE Electric Arizona is launching DRIVE Electric Arizona: Route 66 Kingman, the organization’s newest chapter.
DRIVE Electric Arizona: Route 66 Kingman is chaired by Tosha O’Neill, Director of Administration for Kingman’s Route 66 Electric Vehicle Museum and is co-chaired by Jessica May, President of the Route 66 Electric Vehicle Association.
Our group will have pop-up display booths for DRIVE Electric Arizona, DRIVE Electric Arizona: Route 66 Kingman, the Arizona Rivian Club, a Tesla Display, a Lucid Display and more, plus an exclusive display area for our all our EVs.
All EVs must arrive at EV Parking Area by 4:00 PM
After the SHOW N SHINE EVENT, there will be a catered event and AWARDS PRESENTATION at the Route 66 Electric Vehicle Museum for all registered EV owners & staff.
