Event Report
We participated in the Glen Ridge Arts & Eco Fair with a small sampling of electric vehicles. Shown were the Tesla Models 3, X and Y. Ari P. from Pa came out with his Model X and an EV informational display under an awning, David K with his Model 3, not to be outdone ran EV related videos on a television in his Model 3's frunk. Romy V with the Rivian owners club brought a total of 6 R1T pickup trucks and R1S suv. The pickups had roof top tents, one had climate control piped in from the passenger cabin! Two had awnings and the vehicles made a nice semi-circle for a camp out, displaying their camping accessories along with an e-scooter. Other vehicles were two Lucid Air, Hyundai Ioniq 6, Volkswagen ID.4 and a Smart Electric Drive. The EV show had limited space with a change of vehicles about 1pm. Each vehicle's owner was busy the entire time speaking with about 50 people each. As a bonus right past our EV car/truck show the Glen Ridge Police had an e-bike which they displayed, right past the Police awning the Mobile Bike Shop (which repairs e-bikes) came out with a large display of e-bikes. The EV show was held on the railroad viaduct overlooking the tracks and catenary of the electrified NJ Transit's Essex County line. No smoke and minimal train noise.Event Description
The largest community event in Glen Ridge, attracting thousands of visitors! This joint celebration of the arts and the environment brings together a curated exhibition of over 75 arts and craft vendors, sustainability and wellness vendors, local businesses, eco exhibits and hands-on demonstrations such as beekeeping, composting, solar and car technology. There will also be food, live entertainment, and children’s activities. Fair takes place outdoors, in the area adjacent to Glen Ridge High School and the Glen Ridge Train Station on (for gps) 224 Ridgewood Avenue. RAIN date is Sunday May 19th, 2024.
We have reached 15 vehicles and can not accept any futher sign ups. You're welcome to come to the fair and visit us. Unfortunately there is no more display space for EVs.
