Event Report
From the Lake Oswego Review:The event, which was put on by the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network, attracted about 400 people — including about 50 who test drove electric vehicles, according to LOSN board member Duke Castle. Organizers placed a greater emphasis on encouraging those without EVs to take one out for a spin and Castle said test drives were more frequent this year than previous years. He also said attendees were especially excited to drive the Tesla Cybertruck. In all about 60 electric vehicle owners showed off their cars at the event.
Along with EVs, the event featured talks from experts in the sustainability field and vendors who could help attendees make their lives more climate friendly.
LOSN co-President Linda Ganzini said the organization was happy to see that a high percentage of attendees who filled out a survey at the event resided in other parts of the Portland metro area.
“We are transitioning from just being a Lake Oswego event to being a regional event and that really increases our message,” she said.
Event Description
Are you wondering if an electric vehicle is right for you? The
best way to find out is to test drive an EV at our Electric Home and Vehicle
Fair and enter a drawing for one of fifty $25 gift cards good at a range of
Lake Oswego restaurants. You can enter a coupon for every test drive you take.
We will have a dozen EV dealers including Tesla, Polestar, Ford, Chevrolet, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, BMW, Audi and Volkswagen with EVs you can test drive.
Afterwards you can visit with many of the EV owners who have
brought their electric vehicle to display and discuss at the Fair. Find out what their EV
ownership experience has been.
While you are outside also check out the variety of electric
landscaping equipment available, visit the Portland General Electric booth to
learn about EV charging and the PGE Smart Meter program or relax with a coffee
or food option from our food cart.
Then consider attending one of the talks inside the church
on financial incentives, home and community solar, or how to keep the lights on
when the grid goes down. Visit with one of the numerous vendors who will show
you how to electrify all the rest of your home. Finally be sure to sample a
pancake made on an all-electric induction stove.
Be it an EV owner or interested community member, we would
be delighted to see you. So, please register and join us on September 28
