Event Report

This was the 12th consecutive NDEW event that I have hosted at Central Connecticut State University. This was one of the more successful NDEW events to date. We had 20 EVs on display. Representative from the Tesla Owners of CT and Drive Electric CT attended the event and added significant contributions that helped educate CCSU students, faculty and staff... and members of the general public that joined us. Hundreds of people saw our NDEW event as they walked through campus. At least 200 people stopped by and engaged with our EV owners.

Please bring your electric cars and share your experiences.

This Drive Electric event is brought to you by the CCSU Geography Department and the Global Environmental Sustainability Action Coalition.

About Global Environmental Action Coalition (GESAC):
The GESAC is a grassroots group of current and former CCSU students, administrators, and faculty, committed to providing cross-disciplinary information and solutions on how to live our lives in a way that is sustainable and in harmony with nature. Founded initially as the CCSU Climate Action Coalition in 2007, we have since expanded our scope to the larger issue of environmental sustainability. In 2008, we held our inaugural Global Sustainability and Climate Change Symposium in support of Focus the Nation. At this three day event, more than 1,000 people, including college faculty & students, K-12 school students and teachers, community members, non-governmental organizations, and federal and state governmental officials attended.

About Central Connecticut State University Geography Department:

The CCSU Geography Department offers a BA Degree in Geography with a specialization in Environmental Geography & Sustainability and a MS Degree in Geography with a specialization in Global Sustainability. These degrees are ideal for students interested in understanding human interactions with the social, economic, and environmental systems of the Earth. Students develop a deeper understanding of the interplay between the social, economic, and natural systems of the Earth and how to transition humanity towards social justice, economic justice, and environmental justice. Upon graduation, students are eligible for careers in fields such as climate change/justice, social justice, economic justice, natural resource management, environmental & sustainable planning, outdoor/environmental education, environmental assessment/monitoring/restoration, and air/water/soil pollution prevention, and waste reduction/reuse/recycling.
