Event Report
How much do electric vehicle owners charge at home as opposed to
seeking public charging stations?
That question remains critical to many consumers, especially anyone considering purchasing an EV, and it can be answered by members of the Drive Electric Alabama Birmingham Chapter at Saturday’s National Drive Electric Week EV Showcase at The Market at Pepper Place in Birmingham’s Lakeview neighborhood.
A wide selection of EV makes and models will be on display, and EV owners will be available from 8 a.m. until noon for one-on-one conversations with anyone interested in learning more about EVs.
Reporters, photographers and videographers are invited to attend Saturday’s event and talk to EV owners. The event is free and open to the public.
“The best way to learn about EVs is to talk to the people driving them every day,” said Michael Staley, president of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, which helped coordinate Saturday’s EVent. “I love talking to these drivers because they can separate fact from fiction. That’s why Saturday’s event is so interesting. There’s no sales pitch. It’s EV owners telling others about their firsthand experiences.”
