Join us for an electric vehicle showcase on Saturday, September 30, at the Charlotte Drives Electric event. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see a wide variety of electric vehicles side-by-side, in person. Talk to the owners about their real-world experiences and get honest answers to your questions. Many of the owners will have their cars open so you can sit in the driver seat, check out the cargo space, and more, all without the pressure of visiting a dealership.

Spectators
Are you interested in Electric Vehicles? Thinking about buying an Electric Vehicle? Just curious and want to check out a bunch of cars. This event is for you!  Bring the entire family, check out dozens of models all in one location. Have an opportunity to sit in Privately Owned Vehicles and talk to actual EV owners about their experience. Ask all the questions you have. How far can you go on a charge? How long does it take to charge? Seriously, ask away, these owners love to answer your questions!
  • Click the "RSVP" button to register and we will see you on September 30th!
  • Please only say "YES" to "Do you drive a plug-in vehicle?" if you plan to showcase your EV.

EV Owners
Register your vehicle to showcase it to other EV Owners and the general public!  If it plugs in and you can ride on it, register to showcase your vehicle. With spots for about 100 electric vehicles we will have room for all makes and models!  Did you mod your vehicle, show it off!  Got a cool wrap, show it off! Have a unique EV, show it off!  Just want to show off your vehicle, we'd love to have you! Talk with fellow EV owners as well as potential EV Owners answering their questions
  • Click the "Participate" button to showcase your vehicle.  Please join the mailing list during registration to be assured you receive information for owners displaying their vehicles.

Arrival information for EVs on display
We ask that EV owners participating in the showcase to arrive between 9:00 and 9:45 a.m. We want all vehicles parked by 9:45am as we expect some guests to arrive earlier than the official start time of 10:00 a.m. If you would like to be parked next to a friend, we do ask you to arrive together and let our parking attendants know that you wish to be parked together.  For the safety of all participants, we would ask you to stay until the event ends at 1:00 p.m. to avoid having moving vehicles in the event display area.

There will be a Coffee Truck (cashless) and a Donut Truck selling items made on-site when you arrive and throughout the event, so come a bit hungry. There will also be some giveaways from Nissan available and a raffle to enter, so make sure after you have parked your vehicle and grabbed some coffee and donuts to make your way over to the Wells Fargo tent where these items will be available.

In 2021 the UNC Charlotte College of Engineering undertook the project to design and build the schools first-ever Formula SAE Electric Vehicle. Formula SAE is an international design competition in which college level students design, build and race small formula-style race cars. Over the last couple years we competed at our first competition in June 2023 at Michigan International Speedway and finished 46th of 75 teams, one of the top placing first-year teams to attend but the team did not complete all of the technical inspections. During the last 6 months the design team has been working hard to complete the design for our 2024 car and is nearing the completion of the initial design and will be moving into manufacturing later on in the month of October.
The team will bring a formula style vehicle simulator that uses some components from our 2023 car to the event in Charlotte.

Brad Panvoich, Chief Meteorologist at WCNC-TV  will be in attendance with his Tesla Model Y.

Eastway Nature Room will be present with information about Envirothon Club and the county’s 5 Nature Centers.  Envirothon is an international competition where teams of 3-5 high school or middle school students work together to test their knowledge of nature and the environment. This year’s theme is, “Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future”.

Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition
The Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition (CCFC) was designated in April of 2004 as part of the Department of Energy’s Clean Cities program. The coalition is housed at the Centralina Regional Council, a state-designated lead regional organization in North Carolina comprised of Anson, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly and Union counties. The coalition works with over 100 local and regional stakeholders to reduce the amount of petroleum used in transportation around the region.

Tayco Electric & Solar has been providing quality service to the Carolinas since 2006. We believe in honesty, integrity, and results you will be proud of. Our goal is to educate you, the consumer, so that you can make a confident decision as to whether solar, energy storage, and which ev chargers is right for you. We want to empower you to decide!

Better Tomorrow Solar empowers homeowners and businesses in North Carolina to make the switch to solar by providing customized solutions, financing options, and top-quality installations. We are a no-gimmicks company with a passion for renewable energy with years of experience. We are locally owned and operated out of Davidson, NC. Our staff is fully committed to the vision and implementation of affordable, energy-efficient clean power.

Since 2012, our team has helped residential, commercial, and non-profit customers in the Carolinas take advantage of the sun’s energy and the abundant financial benefits that go with it. Solar panels, batteries, and EV chargers like any other property improvement project, are an investment for your home or business. However, unlike those projects, solar panels are also an investment in the planet’s future and help you decrease your carbon footprint.

Food/Drink Vendors
Food Junkee Doughnuts
We are a small batch, scratch-made doughnut food truck. After more than a decade of private catering and personal chef services, we were forced to pivot during the 2020 shutdown. Having previously prepared our old-fashioned doughnuts for wedding receptions, we decided to start popping up with them at our local farmers market. The response was overwhelming. In 2021, we added our signature horse trailer and continue to serve our fried-on-the-spot doughnuts for public and private events.

Roaming Spirits Coffee will be on site selling coffee from their vintage horse trailer mobile coffee bar.
