Event Report
Partners from Hancock County Schools, Regional Planning Organizations, and the Sierra Club joined us to draw in some community citizens in this rural and economically distressed county to begin working on EV and EVSE education here. We were able to show off a 2022 Ford Lightning (Thor) and 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV (Mercury) during this first-of-its-kind "Drive Electric Sneedville" DEED event. Additionally, we discussed an EV-centric project called "Rural Reimagined" that is led by Tennessee Tech University and that is offering vehicles such as these to community citizens to test drive for a week! Some of our Hancock County friends will be the first to test drive these vehicles once they are officially ready to be borrowed in the project.

Event Description
Drive Electric TN and Drive Electric Appalachian Highlands are pleased to pull together Sneedville, TN's first DEED event! Several EVs - including a Ford Lightning and Chevy Bolt EUV - will be shown, in addition to some additional EVs that local owners will bring and discuss their experience with driving electric!
We will be able to discuss multiple EV-centric projects that are going on in Tennessee, including the "Rural Reimagined" Project wherein local citizens in Hancock County can borrow - at no cost to them - the Lightning or Bolt EUV for 1-2 weeks to really test drive an EV. Plus we will discuss the growing Drive Electric Appalachian Highlands DET Chapter so that community citizens can know about other events that may be going in the Tri-Cities region of northeast TN and southwest VA.
The event will be from 11am to 1pm ET at the Hancock County Elementary School. We are excited about performing more rural outreach in Tennessee to let rural citizens know about the benefits of driving electric!
