Event Report

On Saturday October 1^st, an estimated seventy-five to one hundred residents attended “EV Fest” at the Allen Brook school in Williston.  Sponsored by the Williston Energy Committee, “EV Fest” featured 18 privately owned electric vehicles (EVs) with owners answering questions about their EV purchasing and driving experience.  This free informational event featured a wide range EVs including cars, SUVs and pick-up trucks from numerous manufacturers as well as the Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) electric bus. 

Representatives from DriveElectricVT, Green Mtn. Power and Green Mtn. Solar were on hand providing information about how their company could help with a purchase incentives for EVs, charging options and solar installations. 

Williston Energy Planner, Melinda Scott, met with EV owners to discuss the new “EV Ambassador” program.  “We’re excited that this program will help EV owners easily share information with residents who are considering buying an EV”, said Scott. 

“EV Fest was extremely successful and the attendance exceeded our expectations” said Kevin Thorley, energy committee co-chairperson and coordinator of “EV Fest”.  “We look forward to holding an “EV Fest” annually in Williston”.

Event Description

Join the Williston Energy Committee, Drive Electric Vermont, Local Motion, Green Mountain Power and Green Mountain Solar to check out several different plug-in electric vehicle (EV) models, talk to owners about their experience, learn about available incentives and try out an electric bike!
