Event Report

Our objective was to educate people in southeastern Idaho about EVs, create opportunities for answering EV related questions and to promote the sponsoring organizations:  Idaho Conservation League, Portneuf Resource Council (PRC), Idaho Power (IPC), and Idaho State University.  National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) provided an internet web site that gave event information and participant registration. There was a nice diversity of plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles which clearly demonstrated they are a viable transportation option. The EV owners talked to 250 to 300 people over the course of five hours.  They answered questions concerning range anxiety, price, cost of and time to charge, as well as their experience driving and maintaining their electric vehicle.  In addition, a representative from the Office of Energy and Mineral Resources and SemaConnect, a charging station installer, were also there.

Event Description

Join us in Old Town Pocatello between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday October 1st to talk to EV owners about their experience owning an electric vehicle.  The Portneuf Resource Council, Idaho Conservation League, Idaho State University and Idaho Power are co-hosting this EV Expo just a block from the downtown Pocatello Farmers Market.  We expect we will have a variety of vehicles from EV bikes to passenger vehicles and trucks.   We look forward to seeing you there!
