Event Report
The Lawrence Electric Vehicle Showcase grew once again this year with more variety, more types of EVs, and overall more cars. We displayed a Lawrence Transit electric city bus made by Gillig, a slew of E-bicycles from three bicycle shops, and 23 electric cars of many makes and models.The variety of electric cars included: a 2022 Lucid Air, a 2023 Toyota bZ4X SUV, two 2022 Rivian R1T pickups, a Kia EV6 - GT, two Volkswagen ID.4s, four Chevrolet Bolts, two Tesla Model 3s, two Tesla Model Ss, a Jeep 4XE SUV, a Hyundai Ioniq, a 2012 Nissan LEAF, a 2013 Ford C-MAX energi, a Ford Mustang Mach E, a Ford F-150 Lightning pickup, and a 1997 Saturn SW2 EV conversion.
We partnered this year with the Sustainability Science Fair, and there were three solar contractors on display. Staff from the Kansas City Metro Energy Center had a display table to promote EVs, energy conservation, building electrification, and more. We want to thank our show sponsors too: The City of Lawrence Sustainability Office and the Lawrence Transit System, Laird Noller Dealerships, Crown Toyota & Volkswagen, Evergy Clean Charge Network, Cycle Works, Sunflower Outdoor and Bikes, and Trek Bikes of Lawrence.

Event Description
The Lawrence Electric Vehicle Showcase will be on Sunday, 2 October 2022, 10:00am-2:00pm. The show will be held on the east side of South Park. Sustainability Action Network welcomes our two co-sponsors this year to our fourth annual show: the City of Lawrence Sustainability Office and the Transit System, and the Sustainability Science Fair. So far there are 22 electric cars coming including a Lucid Air, lots of electric bicycles from three bicycle shops, a Ford F-150 Lightning pickup, a Rivian pickup, and a brand new Lawrence Transit battery-electric bus made by Gillig. This local event, organized by the Sustainability Action Network, is one of many community events being celebrated across the country during National Drive Electric Week.
