Event Report
This was a kickoff event for a new collaboration between Belmont Light (Belmont Municipal Light Department), the Belmont Energy Committee, and Sustainable Belmont, under the umbrella of "Belmont Goes Electric!" The event was designed as a Home, Garden, & Garage Electrification Event and featured an EV Ride & Drive, demonstrations of battery electric lawn equipment, and information on home heat pumps/mini-splits, rooftop solar, and other sustainable initiatives.We were lucky to have our town's DPW Water Division let us show off its new Ford Mustang Mach-E, and we had a surprise demonstration from a Rivian pickup that was extremely popular.
This group is planning an event around Earth Day or late spring to keep the momentum going.

Event Description
Join Belmont Light, Sustainable Belmont, the Belmont Energy Committee among other local organizations to discuss home, garden, and garage electrification.
- Test drive and view a
number of electric vehicles from local dealerships and owned by Belmont
residents
- Talk with a representative from Stihl about battery operated yard equipment, including leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and more
- Discuss air source heat pump options with residents that have made the change
- Find out about rebates from Belmont Light to make going electric at home more affordable
