Event Report
On Saturday, September 24, 2022, the City of Cape Canaveral - in conjunction with the Space Coast Electric Vehicle Association - hosted a National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) event at Manatee Sanctuary Park. This free public event featured a wide variety of makes and models across 19 different static vehicle displays showcasing various all-electric (EV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and hybrid (HEV) models, including from the City’s own fleet. Cumulatively, all vehicles present had just over 300,000 miles of all-electric driving. Models in attendance included: Tesla, Ford, VW, Volvo, Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Chrysler, and Mitsubishi! Numerous residents came out with great interest about electrified vehicles. Many left with a genuine education experience. This was also the largest variety of makes and models yet present at a City NDEW event.
