ELECTRIFIED!

Morro Street was fully electrified during Thursday’s Farmers Market as the venue for the “Electrify Your Life” showcase organized by the SLO Climate Coalition. Eight electric vehicles and their owners gave visitors the opportunity to see and hear what it is like to drive electric. Four exhibitors not only provided information on electric vehicles, but also ideas and info on programs to help folks reduce their carbon footprint in their homes.

The City of SLO hosted the centerpiece attraction, showing off their all-electric F-150 Lightning. It not only powered the lights but made popcorn, too, all on energy that was just sunlight only a few hours earlier! Exhibitors included Community Environmental Council, Central Coast Community Energy, SLO County APCD, Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition, and Switch is On.

Visitors were encouraged to attend the EV Ride & Drive event on Saturday so they could actually get behind the wheel of some of the electric vehicles on display.

ELECTRIFY YOUR LIFE SHOWCASE

The San Luis Obispo Climate Coalition will host an event that will not only showcase electric vehicles, but also provide ideas and information on programs to help folks reduce their carbon footprint in their homes. Local experts and EV owners will be available to answer questions and discuss the many advantages of a fully electric lifestyle. The event will be part of the San Luis Obispo Farmers' Market on Thursday evening, September 29, 2022. Photos from last year are shown below.
