Event Report
On September 27, 2022, the County of Ventura in partnership with Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance (VCREA) hosted the Ventura Electric Vehicle (EV) Ride and Drive event at the Ventura County Government Center to promote the clean-air benefits, cost-savings, and fun provided by driving an electric vehicle. The event featured a variety of vehicles to test-drive/ride, including affordable sedans, SUV’s, electric motorbikes, and e-bikes from different vendors. The public benefitted greatly from speaking to real EV owners at the static EV showcase portion of our event, where 12 different models were on display. Regional partners like the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) and Clean Power Alliance (CPA) also supported education and outreach with their own information booths. EV-related promotional and educational materials were distributed to the public by VCREA and partners at no cost. VCREA’s Ride and Drive had an excellent turnout from the public, Ventura County employees, and even public officials like Ventura County Executive Officer - Sevet Johnson, Assistant County Executive Officer -Mike Pettit, Ventura County First District Supervisor - Matt LaVere, representatives from the Office of Ventura County Fifth District Supervisor, Santa Paula Vice Mayor – Andy Sobel, and KCLU News Director - Lance Orozco.
