Event Report
The Shaker Heights National Drive Electric Week event was held on September 25th inc conjunction with the city's Touch A Truck family-friendly event. Despite an overcast sky and some light occasional drizzle, the event was very well attended and the electric vehicle showcase was a big hit with both the kids and their parents. Nearly every available EV model in Ohio was represented, from the entire Tesla lineup to the Ford Mach-e and VW ID.4.Special thanks to the city's Sustainability Committee for assisting with the event and bringing additional exhibits and materials to share with the public.

Event Description
Shaker Heights' National Drive Electric Week event will showcase EVs and EV drivers from the region as part of the City's "Touch A Truck" event - a popular and family-friendly opportunity to see fire trucks, dump trucks, transit buses, and other vehicles (that are not YET electrified...). Shaker Heights will also be displaying its first city EV - a 2020 Chevy Bolt used by the Recreation Department.
The Van Aken District offers numerous food and beverage options plus unique local shops and services. Come and enjoy lunch at the Market Hall or one of the restaurants and treat yourself to Mitchell's ice cream, a local favorite.
Please note that there is room for approximately 8 to 10 EVs on Walker Road and overflow across the Rapid tracks at Shaker Plaza. If you plan to exhibit your EV and can stay for the entire event please come to Walker Road from Farnsleigh, otherwise please use the area at Shaker Plaza (which is also the overflow area if Walker Road is full).
