Event Report

This was the second of 2 webinars that Hawaii EV and Drive Electric Week Hawaii (led by Blue Planet Foundation) hosted in celebration of Drive Electric Week. This session was focused on the EV-curious - we focused on the basics of EVs, buying, and charging.

Our webinar agenda and presenters:
  • EV 101, virtual test drives, myth-busting - Kianiwai Jones (Director, Blue Planet Foundation)
  • Hawaii EV Expert program - Steven Ingledue (Cutter Volvo Honolulu)
  • Buying a used EV (video)
  • EV Charging 101 - Nanette Vinton (Treasurer- Hawaii EV and President Tesla Hawaii Club)
  • Charging in Hawaii - Tandy Tabata (Sr. Program Manager, Hawaiian Electric)
  • EV Owners Panel - Owners from across the state with different EV charging situations.
  • Q&A

We concluded the event with a Q&A from our Zoom audience and a raffle drawing. We gave away four 1-day EV rentals to participants from 4 islands. This was a means to get people behind the wheel of an EV and to raise visibility to the availability of EV rentals across the state.

The recording of our webinar can be viewed at youtu.be/zlVw4la9Tsg

Thanks to our co-host, Kianiwai Jones of Blue Planet Foundation, our speakers, owners who joined our panel, and the EV rental companies that provided the generous 1-day rentals (Mission Zero, Weedrivetesla, Aiona Cars, and ECO Car Rental). Special thanks to national sponsors for the continued spotlight on electric vehicles and clean transportation.
