The First Annual Rocktown Energy Festival hosted by The Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Energy (CASE) and partnered with Virginia Clean Cities will take place this October. The goal of the Rocktown Energy Festival is to educate the residents of Rockingham County and the City of Harrisonburg through a showcase of local energy efforts that include hearing from renewable energy installers, electric cooperatives, green building developers, electric vehicle owners, and other energy and sustainability stakeholders.
Guests will have the opportunity to network with exhibitors, attend informative presentations, and participate in children/family sustainable energy activities. Features of the festival will also include vendor spotlights and an energy carnival to go along with the workshops.
In conjunction with the National Home Solar Tour, the event will offer a sustainable home and business showcase, featuring multiple homeowners, and business owners, who have in several ways made improvements to their home to increase efficiency, sustainability, and decrease their energy usage and bills.
Virginia Clean Cities will be running an exhibition booth on all things electric vehicles during the entire event. Multiple EVs will be brought in to showcase, along with handouts and other educational materials. VCC will also hold a presentation during the event with an in-depth description of the current state of EV ownership, charging infrastructure, consumer EV incentives, and much more.
