Event Report

The 2021 East Hampton / Portland electric Car Show on Saturday, September 25, 2021 was a great success.

The event was sponsored by the East Hampton and Portland Clean Energy Task Forces, which are volunteer organizations within their respcetive towns to promote conservation, clean energy, reduced fossil fuel consumption.  Addressing negative climate change due to current patterns of energy and resource use are a primary focus of the Task Forces.

Held at the East Hampton High School, and supported by the East Hampton Parks & Recreation Department, the location and promotional efforts were very effective.

Over two dozen show cars, two solar contractor, three dealerships, and an estimated 250 attendees made their way to the event.

We were pleased to have the two renewable energy companies also participating.  The interface between conservation, renewables and a transformed transportation sector are critical to moving past fossil fuels dominance.

The East Hampton and Portland Clean Energy Task Forces are organizing the Third Annual “Electric Car Show” on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the East Hampton High School at 15 North Maple St. from 12 noon to 3pm (Rain Date is Sunday, September 26th). The event will showcase all-electric and hybrid cars from private owners and various dealerships.

The Clean Energy Task Forces are volunteer committees dedicated to promoting green energy alternatives in their towns.  The event is also sponsored by the East Hampton Parks and Recreation Dept.

The Task Forces are also inviting any town residents who own any all-electric and hybrid vehicles to show off their clean energy machine too. There is no registration fee.

You can still register by contacting the East Hampton Clean Energy Task Force at ehcetf@gmail.com or call us 860-748-5165.

Registration before the event allows easier planning for space allocation.  But if you decide at the last minute that you want to display your vehicle, we do ask that you show up at least a half hour before the event commences.

So, come on out, show off your vehicle or just do some green window-shopping with us and have some good "clean" fun!
