Event Report

On September 30th, Project Clean Air (PCA) hosted a virtual ride & drive event from 2PM-3PM. This event, hosted and moderated by PCA Coordinator, Robert Garnsey, highlighted the accessibility of EVs to a curious audience. Through three ride & drive videos, many EV topics were discussed which included how EVs drive, EV owner experiences, and public charging. In addition to the three virtual ride & drives that were shown, the webinar also featured three speakers who discussed several EV incentives available to EV buyers. Speaking to the audience on this subject was Dante Sanson from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, Aaron Dyer from Southern California Edison, and LaTisha Harris from the Center for Sustainable Energy. The webinar concluded with a Q&A portion that allowed attendees to address questions towards the speakers and PCA staff.

Overall, it was a very informative webinar that reached an attentive audience of 50 (In the days prior to broadcast we had 76 registered). Our audience had a wide geographic range, with attendees/registrants from Southern California, Northern California, the Central Valley and even Oregon and Michigan. Attendees were very engaged with the webinar and asked over 15 questions during the 10 minute Q&A. As the webinar was packed with content (Ride & Drive videos, Speakers) we were unfortunately unable to answer all of the questions live. Project Clean Air staff followed up with those attendees who had pending questions after the webinar to provide them answers.

Project Clean Air concluded the event by inviting all attendees to visit the PCA website and to mark their calendars for our upcoming outreach events. One of which is an in-person ride & drive event in Bakersfield and Fresno this Spring!

This event was supported by the Kern Council of Governments and the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
