Event Report

Know B4U Go was the first virtual ride-and-drive offered by Drive Electric RVA. We received a grant from Electrify America that paid for print and online advertising as well as Facebook ads in the days leading up to the event. Unfortunately, while the advertising raised the visibility of the Zoom registration page, only 18 people signed up and 10 attended the 90-minute event. Still, this was a good opportunity to learn about the challenges of marketing online events, and those lessons learned will help us plan future online events.

Event Description

Curious about electric vehicles but want to take a test drive first to see if they are right for you? In the middle of a pandemic, we are offering a virtual way to get behind the wheel of one of three electric SUVs that were recently launched: the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-PACE and the Tesla Model Y.

The event will kick off with a presentation by Blair St. Ledger-Olson of Generation180 that covers the basics of electric vehicles.

Event attendees vote on which of the three SUVs they want to see someone take a ride in.

The car with the most votes will be taken on a test drive with Zach Hurst of EV Resource in the passenger seat. He will interview the driver about the EV and ask questions that people submitted ahead of time.

Before that, the owners of the two runner-ups will be interviewed about their experiences by Charles Gerena of Drive Electric RVA.

The event concludes with a Q&A session and a “plug” for resources that people can use to learn more about EVs.

All sessions will be live streamed on Zoom and Facebook and recorded for future release on the YouTube channels for Drive Electric RVA, EV Resource and Generation180.

To sign up, please click the RSVP button above and you will receive an email with information on how to receive the Zoom link for the event. NOTE: If you do not register, you will not be able to attend.
