Event Report

This event was held in conjunction with a training class for first responders on alternative fuel vehicles. The proper procedure for disabling an EV was discussed and the participating vehicles were examined to determine where to cut battery cables and disengage the high voltage battery. (No actual cables were cut...).

Event Description

Have you ever wondered how first responders are trained on electric vehicle safety? Here's your chance to contribute by displaying your EV to a class learning all about alternative fuel safety - appropriately enough during National Drive Electric Week.

This Cleveland State University class, hosted by the Independence Fire Department, will have a lunch break at noon and our goal is to show them as many different makes and models of EVs as we can. The site will be behind the Independence Fire Department in the lot of the Police & Courts Building (enter from W. Pete Wisnieski Parkway off Selig Boulevard). Please follow the signs to the designated parking area, wear a mask, and remember to maintain social distancing.
