Event Report

We had 4 Teslas, 4 Nissan Leafs, 4 Chevy Volts, a Twike, a Chevy S-10 conversion, '74 VW beetle conversion and a plug in Prius conversion.

ON Saturday the 20th in KC, MO we had 2 Teslas, 3 Leafs, a Twike, a BMW 325i conversion and 1 electric bike. We had about 25 people at our static display. We then paraded thru the Country Club Plaza where the annual Art Fair was in full swing. The Twike led the way and it turned a lot of heads.

Lots of new EV drivers were encouraged to join the local chapter and help promote electric transportation.
Sprint has added 15 new charging stations to their Overland Park Campus. The former CEO purchased a Tesla and the charging station project jumped to the head of the list.

National Drive Electric Week is a great chance to spread awareness about EV vehicles. National Electric Drive Week is led by local plug-in drivers and advocates, which means that this will only be possible with your support. This is a great chance to get involved and help promote EV vehicles.

Kickoff National Drive Electric Week @ Science City at Union Station When: Saturday, September 13 Time:  12pm - 5pm Where: 30 W Pershing Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108 Kick off Drive Electric week at Science City! EV Car Show @ Village Presbyterian Church When: Wednesday, September 17 Time: 4pm - 8:30pm Where: 6641 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208 One of the events planned for the National Drive Electric week is an electric car show that will be held on Wednesday September 17th at The Village Presbyterian Church from 4:00-8:30pm.  Some of the cars that will be on display include the Tesla Model S, Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt and Conversions. The church is located at 67th St and Mission road in Prairie Village, KS. Dinner and salad are available for $7.00 a person and salad bar only is $5.00. That is church dinner and education night. Reservations for dinner need to be made by September 10th if you plan to have dinner or salad bar only. Orange EV T-Series Corporate Test Drive When: September 18, 2014 Time: 1pm - 4pm Do you operate a terminal truck?  We are encouraging all coporate fleet owners to bring in your drivers to test drive an ALL Electric T-Series!  Yes, ALL ELECTRIC! Stakeholder Seminar: Workplace Charging @ Black & Veatch When: Friday, September 19 Time: 1pm - 3pm Where: 11401 Lamar Ave, IP1 Training Room, Overland Park, KS 66211   Join us at Black & Veatch for our September Stakeholder Seminar. At this meeting we will discuss the happenings of Clean Cities and will be talking about Workplace Charging and how you can help expand the EV network! Cruise Night @ Longbranch Saloon When: Friday, September 19 Time: 5pm - 8pm Where: 9095 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66212    Join us Friday night at the Long Branch Steakhouse for Cruise Night! Showcasing hot rods, street rods, customs, classics rat rides, street machines, motorcycles, and more.  For one night, and one night only, introducing ELECTRIC VEHICLES!!!  Enjoy the classics and modern vehicles all in one place!     Dan's Longbranch Saloon and Steakhouse has been holding this event every Friday night during the summer for years now, and they always pull in a strong crowd.  So come out Friday, September 19 to check out Teslas and converted electric vehicles brought to you by the Mid-America Electric Auto Association. Electric Car Display and Parade @ Discovery Center & Plaza Art Fair  When: Saturday, September 20  Time: 9am - 11am Where: 4750 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64110    Check out this gathering of plug-in cars and trucks at the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center.  Brought to you by the Mid-America Electric Auto Association.  You will be able to speak with owners and ask any questions you might have about electric vehicles.  Come out and see self-converted vehicles and original manufactured cars, like Teslas and Leafs!  Following the event there will be an informal parade through the Plaza Art Fair down 47th street.   Click here for more information and to RSVP
