Event Report

Northwest Ohio's seventh annual Ride and Drive event was completed Saturday, September 26 with the help of many dedicated EV owners and event organizer Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio.  The Town Center at Levis Commons once again served as beautiful and busy background for this year's event.

This year's Ride and Drive assembled fifteen plug-in vehicles with a combined 363,433 miles of driving.  Although some purchased their BEV new, there was interesting conversation regarding Certified-Pre-Owned used vehicles and pricing of a new Model X Tesla is less than just a couple of years ago.

Foot traffic through the Ride and Drive lot was fair, and consistent.  BEV owners shared their driving experiences and answered questions to curious shoppers, other BEV owners, and a local newspaper reporter.  There were numerous "rides and drives" with these EV owners more than willing to share their time and enthusiasm for these fabulous vehicles.

This was our second consecutive year with nearly perfect weather.  Temperatures were mid 70s with clear skies, mild wind and low humidity.  Levis Commons did a great job of advertising the event including sending hot-off-the-press pictures to their shopping patrons while the event was still in progress; a simply awesome venue.  I am sure this helped keep the foot-traffic consistent.  Guests came as from as far away as Fort Wayne, Indiana and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I want to offer many thanks to the diligent volunteers, EV owners, Levis Commons personnel, Clean Fuels Ohio staff and sponsors for this year's Ride and Drive.  It won't be long before we begin planning next year's Ride and Drive and we are looking forward to a bigger-and-better event in 2021.

Event Description

My name is Michael Hall, president of Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio.  Here we are:  National Drive Electric Week is here!  In-person and virtual events will be happening across the country from September 26 through October 04.  Join us for the real deal - the "In Person" Ride and Drive we've grown to love!  Please join us on September 26, 2020 for our seventh annual event, and sixth consecutive Ride and Drive at the beautiful Town Center at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, Ohio.  Our scheduled hours are Noon to 5:00pm.

If you are an EV or Hybrid owner, please register your vehicle at "driveelectricweek.org" and join us for this fun event.  Don't have an electric vehicle?   Join us just for the fun!  Come early to enjoy the great Levis Commons shopping and dining, make time for a movie and view the best electric vehicles on the market today.  I also have gadgets for the kids: hats, USB fans, book bags and water bottles.  Oh, there will be lots of your favorite music too.

Find out why it is possible to "drive electric" for all your local daily routines as well as taking out-of-town trips.  Speak directly to vehicle owners, not to salesmen.  There is a great display of vehicles from Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan and Tesla.  Take a drive in a quiet zero-emission vehicle, or ride along to experience first-hand why some of these owners have ditched their fossil-fuel vehicles completely.

Patrons and participants will be asked to follow state and local ordinances regarding current conditions.  I have plenty of sanitizer, wipes, and masks made in the USA.  The weather forecast is sunny with temperatures in the mid-to-upper seventies.  With so much going on you'll end up with a whole day at the beautiful Levis Commons center.  A great venue, a great event and great fun!  Questions or comments - call me at 419-466-5047.  Wow, I'll see you there Saturday, September 26!

Respectfully submitted,

Michael Hall
