Event Report
We very much enjoyed our visit by Captain Szczublewski who was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to come talk with us.
Event Description
Please note this is a closed event for Employees and Contractors of the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC.
NOTE: CAC Card entrance is not sufficient for entry. If you wish to obtain a visitor's pass for the day in question please contact the organizer so that we can see if it's possible for this to be arranged.
Come one come all see how easy it is to drive like a cloud on electric miles. The Navy and DoD are trying to make a greener fleet for government vehicles, so why not be a part of it?
Meet your fellow employees to greet and talk about their experiences and insights into what it's like driving an electric car in Washington, D.C.'s infamous traffic and how easy it is for them to take advantage of many local incentives all the while saving $1000s on fuel!
We will have customers with Chevy Volts and Nissan LEAFs and will try to get a Honda Fit EV or Tesla Model S Performance to be on display. Hear from real drivers and real experiences.
While you're here, enjoy some lunchtime sweets put on by the NRL Electric Vehicles Enthusiasts Group (https://pipeline.nrl.navy.mil/groups/electric-vehicle-owners [Requires Pipeline access]). Membership is welcome to all, enthusiast and owner alike and all are welcome to join our group!
Find us in the circular parking lot which serves Quarters "A" and "B" and is adjacent to Building 207. We hope to see you there!
And remember, this is a lunchtime event but if you wish to stay more than 30 minutes away from your primary workspace, please get your manager's approval.
Note: This Event is put on purely by the Electric Vehicle Enthusiasts Group and in no way should this event be taken as an endorsement by the NRL for the event. We EV Enthusiasts simply wish to share our enjoyment of electric cars with our fellow employees and sponsored solely by employees.
If you're driving an electric car, please make sure you have sufficient charge to attend this event. Charging will not be provided on-site but is available from any site listed on the Plugshare website, such as the Walgreen’s in Alexandria (Fees may apply). And remember, this is a lunchtime event but if you wish to stay more than 30 minutes away from your primary workspace, please get your manager's approval.
