Event Report

We had various legislators and OEM reps at our event. The OEM reps (from Ford, GM, Mercedes, Nissan, Toyota) participated in our panel discussion on EV technology and benefits. We also had a VP from the National Auto Dealers Association on the panel and the discussion was moderated by Senator Toni Boucher and Representative Lonnie Reed.

Event Description

Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), along with Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association, is sponsoring an electric vehicle (EV) event on September 18, 2014 at the State Capitol in Hartford. The event, EV Day at the Capitol: A National Drive Electric Week Event, kicks off with a welcome by DEEP Commissioner Rob Klee and Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association Chairman Michael Lynch who will then present the REVolutionary Dealer Award to the dealer(s) who have sold/leased the highest number of new EVs and new plug-in hybrids between February and July 2014.  The event will conclude with a panel discussion on clean cars and plug in electric vehicles.  The public is invited to see displays of new electric vehicle models coming to Connecticut dealerships. Several of these cars, including the Mercedes Benz B-class, Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf and Ford Fusion Energi, will be available for test drives on a first come, first served basis between noon and 2pm. Please do not forget to have your valid driver’s license with you to take advantage of the opportunity to test drive these vehicles. EV Day at the Capitol will be a great event and we’re expecting a great turn out. Don’t be the only person who missed it!
