Event Report

We had an awesome EV festival, the participating car owners were great, the employees of venue, Anaina Hou Community Park incredibly helpful.

We got to meet with many people from the local community and shared information about our electric vehicles.  About 50 people were very seriously interested and asked many in-depth questions, some stayed an hour and longer. Everyone looked happy and had fun.

About 150 more people got various levels of exposure, some just slowly walking by the line of EVs looking at them, some asking a few questions, and some admiring the Teslas. People could take rides in a Tesla Model X, and test drive a Nissan Leaf.

We handed out free home made cupcakes, promotional materials and lots of literature and informational flyers, many mahalos to NDEW, the sponsors and KIUC our local utility for providing the giveaways and flyers, the directional signs and banners we got were super helpful too .

We held the EVent between a Farmer's Market and a Minigolf course, so a few people were exposed to electric vehicles who would not have seen our EVs otherwise. Even the weather was nice, mostly blue skies and not too hot.

Event Description

This year's National Drive Electric Week event is approaching quickly! Kauai EV is going to have their first EV festival in beautiful Kilauea at Anaina Hou Community Park.

We hope to have many different EVs there and have an attractive event for the interested public. We will chat, and maybe have a prensentation about why we are convinced EVs are the personal transportation of the future.

We will get started at 9am, and will go until 1pm.

We are looking for volunteers to help prepare, advertise the event, help out at the festival, bring their cars, play music, learn about electric cars and their benefits, or just to come celebrate with us and have fun.

Addition from Sept. 7th: A 4th EVent is happening on Kauai, an Electric Vehicle class the the Kauai Community College  "Electric Cars on Kauai" on Sept. 24 as I understand they are trying to hold the class for free but at the moment it's listed at $15
