Gathering at the Little Summit Overlook above the Little Del Reservoir
Head out with us on Utah’s first-ever, All-makes-and-models Wasatch EV Association "Commuter EV Rally" and "Canyons EV Rally"! If your vehicle has a plug, you are invited and welcome! The majority of the driving will be in the canyons and surface streets rather than highways. However, both will offer the option of freeway speeds on I-80.
We will start gathering PRIOR TO 1:00 p.m., group up into the vehicles, and leave at 1pm for our first stop at the Little Mountain Summit/Little Del Overlook. There we will have the opportunity to socialize with other EV owners and the "EV-curious" who ride along before heading on to Snowbird (Option 2).
NOTE: as a required participation item, bring the linked liability waiver form with you. PLEASE PRINT, SIGN, AND BRING ONE FORM FOR EACH PERSON IN YOUR PARTY.
(SAVE THE DATE: Our next association rally/event will be on 2 November 2019!)
Participants will have the choice of Two Options on Saturday, September 14th:
Option 1: Commuter EV Rally (~34 mi round trip, ~ 2 hrs counting stops)
Drive past the zoo and up scenic Emigration Canyon. Get out and stretch when we get to the Little Mountain Summit (overlooking Little Dell Lake). Then return to the Capitol or home. Maybe more than the average commute yet a lot prettier! Three variations are available to get back to the Capitol (or to head home): I-80/UofU/Avenues (shown below), I-80/State Street, or Emigration Canyon (simply retracing steps back to the capitol).
Option 2: Canyons EV Rally (~70 mi round trip, ~ 3+ hrs counting stops)
Drive past the zoo and up scenic Emigration Canyon. Get out and visit/socialize when we get to Little Mountain Summit (same as Option 1 so far). Then we will head south to scenic Little Cottonwood Canyon & Snowbird Resort where we can visit/socialize further. Then return to the Capitol via I215/Wasatch Blvd/UofU/the Avenues (as shown below), or head home if you don't have have any ride alongs with you.
Are you willing to take members of the public as a ride-along in your EV? There are several signing up to participate who do not (yet) own EVs. This is event one of the best ways for someone to experience an EV first-hand. If you are willing to have someone ride along with you, just indicate this when you sign up your vehicle. (Please note that the organizers do not cover any liability when you carry others in your car. You’re doing it out of the goodness of your heart and subject to the terms of your private vehicle insurance.) THANKS FOR YOUR WILLINGNESS TO INTRODUCE OTHERS TO EVs! This promises to be a GREAT event!!!!!!!!
