Event Report

Warm temperatures in the high-70s and clear sunny skies helped make for a great day, as we celebrated our 8th Annual National Drive Electric Week event at the Tanner Park  in Copiague, NY on Sunday September 15. Approximately 350 people were on hand to see, sit in, and to learn more about the 36 EVs & PHEVs brought to the event by proud vehicle owners, local dealerships, and one of our participating solar power vendors. Representatives from Long Island PSEG were on hand to provide information about charging equipment and Drive Electric Long Island’s Education and Outreach Subcommittee provided attendees with information from their State of Electric Vehicles on Long Island Report. We had seventeen different models on display, which included 1 BMW I3, 2 Chevy Bolts, 1 Chevy Volt, 1 Fisker Karma, 2 Nissan Leafs,  1 Honda Clarity, 1 Hyundai Kona, 1 Hyundai Ionic PHEV, 1 Hyundai Sonata PHEV, 1 Kia Soul, 1 Fiat 500e, 1 Smart fortwo, 8 Tesla Model 3s, 1 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, 3 Tesla Model X, 7 Tesla Model S and 1 Tesla Roadster and 2 Zero Motorcycles.
