The EV Long Weekend drive

EVs are here, now. See how they can replace your fossil car by watching the progress of a Hyundai Kona electric circumnavigating the state of Victoria in 7 days.

Day 1: ties in with Renew's Sustainable House Day, with the EV Long Weekend Kona electric visiting a selection of the Renew Sustainable Houses along the way from Melbourne to Bairnsdale. Each visit will include a short explanation of the charging needs of an EV and a basic appraisal of the property for EVSE installation position and max kW charging capacity, along with an estimate of the cost to install an EVSE.

Day 2: sees the Kona electric travel from Bairnsdale to Albury, over the roof of Victoria along the world renowned Great Alpine Road;
Day 3: the first leg along the route of the (once) mighty Murray River (now humbled by drought and over use) following the NSW-Vic border, finishing that day at Kerang.
Day 4: continues following the Murray on to the most northerly major Victorian town: Mildura!;
Day 5: sees the Kona head south towards the coast, stopping overnight at Horsham;
Day 6: will take the Kona to Ballarat via Hamilton, stopping that night to give a public talk on using EVs for longer distance travel;
Day 7: involves a tour south to the coast at Geelong, then on to the ECOSS Sun Festival in the Yarra Valley, with the opportunity to have other EV drivers join the day's drive to become an EV Parade to the EV Long Weekend Tour finish line at ECOSS.
Note: Day 7 will be listed as a separate event.
