Event Report
We had another successful NDEW Houston IKEA EVent this 2019!We have been doing this EVent here in Houston for seven years and the interest in EV’s keeps growing. Many people that have never had an EV are considering one for their next car purchase. This is very encouraging.
Probably the most interesting application of an EV at NDEW, was a couple that brought their Tesla Model X towing a Casita camper. They brought their stories of the 4500, all electric, miles camping trip they took this summer. It was a great display of how EV’s are able to do what we want to do with them.
The biggest highlight for 2019 is that we had four EVents in the greater Houston area.
They were,
Bellaire, a City within Houston
Houston IKEA
Richmond TX farmers market
Katy TX farmers market
These four EVents exposed several hundred people to EV’s
Next year there are several of us that want to add:
Clear Lake TX, a community on the south east side of the greater Houston metroplex.
The Woodlands TX, a community to the north.
Having many EVents in the greater Houston area is important because of the geographic size of this metroplex. At almost 100 miles in diameter and over 4 million people, the Greater Houston metroplex, made up of the City of Houston and the other incorporated neighborhoods and cities that surround it, can support 10 or more EVents. That is our vision for the future here.
