Event Report

NC State Senator Terry Van Duyn. The total for the single day, 21Sept14 FREE Electric Car Show & RIde was: 389 people, 26 cars, 180 rides. The weekly total (for all Asheville events not reported elsewhere): 788 People, 56 cars, and 184 rides included the events for the full National Drive Electric Week.

Event Description

 

Have an electrifying experience on Sunday afternoon, September 21, 1-4 pm. Asheville’s premier electric vehicle charging hub will be abuzz with FREE opportunities to:

·      Talk with owners & dealers about the pleasure of driving electric cars and see these marvels up close

     Dealers include: Anderson Nissan, BMW of Asheville, Boyd Chevrolet Cadillac Buick, Ken Wilson Ford, Sunshine Chevrolet

    ·      Cars include*: BMW i3, Cadillac ELR Chevrolet Volt, Ford Plug-In Hybrids, Nissan LeafTesla and ELF Organic Transit

·      Ride or drive a zero-emissions vehicle (10-minute loop)

·      See the operation of several BrightFieldTS electric vehicle charging stations which produce power from the sun

·      Get answers to all your questions on cost of operation, savings, available cars, area charging locations, home charging options, rebates and tax incentives

·      See some specialty electric vehicles

·      Meet members of the Blue Ridge EV Club & join up!

Wednesday, Sept 17, 2:30 pm, Haywood Community College (Creative Arts Building, Room 7316), 185 Freelander Dr., Clyde, NC Free screening of Chris Paine's documentary Revenge of the Electric Car  followed by audience discussion.       Saturday, Sept 20, 10 am-6 pm, Weaverville Arts ‘N Autumn Festival, 30 S. Main Street, Weaverville, NC outside of the Town Hall. Talk with owners, see their cars and register for the free 9/21 car show.
