Event Report

Waynesboro's first Drive Electric event! Despite poor weather, we had a strong showing with 11 EV's coming by. Early on had various sightseers looking over the cars and enjoying ice cream. As the rain came in, hoods went down, conversations moved indoors for a bit. As things dried up again had another round of test rides and fun. We'll do it again and hope for sun!

Farewell gathering at end of the afternoon - folks who stayed through the rain to get more test rides!

Event Description

All attendees and volunteers are required to wear face masks whenever they are within six feet of another person at all National Drive Electric Week 2022 events. Please see this information about how to improve how your mask protects you. For more information, see our in-person event safety requirements.

Kick off Drive Electric Week at The City Cow ! Look under the hood of various electric cars and talk with owners, all while enjoying locally made ice cream, local crafts, and more at The Cow. Tesla, Chevy Bolt and Chevy Volt owners will offer test rides. Free event, rain or shine (come sit inside the bus to talk!).

EV information will be available as we work to form a local chapter of the Electric Auto Association here in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Like our Facebook page and visit our web page to join the e-mail list and more.

We are thrilled that the City Cow has provided space for this event, and is offering discounts on ice cream for EV/plug-in drivers  :-)  They are open to adding EV chargers and have just received funding from Grow Waynesboro towards providing bike rentals for tourists. Follow the The City Cow Facebook page for more info.
