Event Report
Lexington, Kentucky once again for 2018 celebrated NDEW with two events. First we had a Theatrical Premiere of documentary film EVOLVE: Driving a Clean Future in Coal Country by award-winning Louisville filmmaker Ben Evans at the Kentucky Theatre. Second we had an Electric Vehicle Day at Whole Foods Market which also featured a Solar Installer Showcase of four local installers, UK Solar Car, Lextran E-Bus, and Pedal Power E-Bikes. Evolve KY members displayed 20 vehicles of 9 different models: Nissan Leaf, Fiat 500e, Chevy Bolt, Volt, Tesla Model S, Model 3, Fisker Karma, Honda Clarity, and BMW i3 from Don Jacobs dealer. Even with the rain, we had a great turnout of around 600 people and nearly 50 test rides. Kentucky is Evolving!
Event Description
Join us for our third Electric Vehicle Day at Whole Foods Market. Come with your EV or check out all the EVs in the parking lot, free giveaways will be under the tent. We will be close to the EV chargers with complimentary drinks so you can talk with EV owners about their experiences and get the latest news on electric vehicles in Kentucky and then grocery shop.
Last year EVolve KY members and friends showcased several all electric cars including: Chevy Bolt, Fiat 500e, Ford Focus EV, Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model S and Model X, Volkswagen E-Golf; and plug-in hybrid Chevy Volt. There are several new EVs available in Kentucky that we did not have last year so we are hoping to have them at this year's event. Lexington area EVolve KY has been having regular meetings welcoming EV owners and those with interest, so we hope to showcase even more cars and have a better event than last year's; which was great!
