Event Report
We held our 3rd annual 'tail gate' party at the Big Y World Class Supermarket in Old Saybrook on a week night. Big Y night manager Dave manned the grill and offered hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and cold drinks while visitors stopped by after shopping to learn more about plug in vehicles. We had a wide range of EVs; BMW I3, Tesla Model S, Nissan Leaf, Ford Focus EV, and more!

Big Y has been very sportive of EVs. They installed a two-station charger right in front of this new store and we're told that the president of this New England grocery chain drives Model S! |
Event Description
Come join us at the new Big Y World Class
Market on Tuesday , September 12, for an after work Electric Vehicle (EV)
Tailgate Cookout Party!
Big Y
has graciously let us use their parking lot with their new dual use EV
Charging station. Big Y has also generously offered to provide all the cook-out fixings and run the grill! Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and water will make this a perfect tailgate party to hang out at Tuesday Sept 12th!
Have an Electric Vehicle (or Plug-in)? Bring your EV/Plug-In to the event to show it off and answer questions. The charging station will be available to recharge while you're there!

In all cases, we encourage you to register to attend to help us better plan the event (and have the right number of hot dogs on hand for you!).
Directions to Big Y Old Saybrook; On Interstate 95, take exit 66 and turn South onto Route 166. Continue to first traffic light and turn left into the new Big Y shopping center. Follow white NDEW lawn signs to our event! Reserved parking for EV/Plug-in EV owners. Look for our green and white NDEW signs!
