Event Report
Poughkeepsie NY's Drive Electric Event was a great time! We held it at Marist college along the Hudson River and since we weren't allowed to give test drives we compensated by having lots of great scheduled talks. Seth Weintraub from electrek.co led us off with a talk about how to talk to the public about EVs. This was followed by an hour of talks by government officials from the towns of Red Hook and Rhinebeck about rebates available to New York communities for installing charging stations. The last hour was jam packed - an introduction to EVs course, a recap of a tour of the Tesla factory and a panel discussion talking about the future of electric cars.
Throughout the talks over 25 owners showed off their cars to the many students and visitors that came by. The Model X was a big hit with the college kids, some of whom had come on assignment from their classes. So, all in all a beautiful day in the hudson valley and hopefully lots of future EV drivers as well!
