NATIONAL PLUG IN DAY - NASHVILLE TENNESSEE

Parthenon

National Plug In Day 2013 - Nashville Tennessee will be held at the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA) 35th Annual Fall Expo, sponsored by the Nissan LEAF, at Nashville’s Centennial Park September 27-29, 2013. (Friday and Saturday 10 am - 6 pm |  Sunday 10 am - 5 pm)

TACA Logo

TACA’s  35th Annual Fall Expo is expected to draw 200 artists from around the country and an estimated 45k guests.  With the Parthenon as a backdrop, hundreds of tents filled with fine craft, dozens of food vendors, live music and a kids play area, the expo has plenty for the whole family to do and see and National Plug In Day gets to be part of it.

Our tent and showcase area will be near the charging stations at the center of the front lawn.  Come see the 2013, Smyrna Tennessee built, Nissan LEAF.  There will be other all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars to check out as well as built in Nashville all-electric scooters by No Gas America and electric pedal assisted bikes from EasyMotion to ride.

Although there will be plenty of time during the weekend to meet and talk to EV fans and help educate the community about the benefits of being an EV owner, there are two very special events planned.

First, what would Plug In Day in Music City be without music?  As part of the celebration The Bluebird Café on Friday September 27th @ 6:30pm, will host a special event, “The Bluebird Café Celebrates National Plug In Day”.  Over the last 30 years, The Bluebird Café has become one of the world’s preeminent listening rooms and the venue has gained worldwide recognition as a songwriter’s performance space where the “heroes behind the hits” perform their own songs.  Because of the small size of the venue this will be a By Invitation Only Private event.  To win a pair of tickets to this exclusive performance register to attend the Nashville National Plug In Day event at www.pluginday.org.  Tickets will be awarded on Wednesday September 25th at 9pm CDT.  The winner will be notified by email.

Want another way to win a pair of tickets, stop by our booth before 4pm on Friday and register for the onsite drawing.  Winners will be notified on Friday and can pick up their tickets at the door.

Next what would Plug In Day be without an EV parade?  On Saturday September 28th @ 3pm we will have an EV parade around Centennial Park.  All EV owners interested in participating in the parade should rally up at the HCA parking lot no later than 2:45pm.  For more information stop by the NPID booth and plan on joining us for a few victory laps around the park!

You can imagine this is a huge weekend and we really need volunteers to help.  If you are interested in helping educate the public about the benefits of EVs please consider registering to be a volunteer for our event.  Volunteering is fun and great way of meeting other EV advocates and help spread the word.
