Event Report

Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio hosted its fourth annual NDEW event on Saturday, September 09. Blue skies and mild temperatures offered a great setting for the ride-and-drive event. Our guest speaker was Ohio House Represent Mike Sheehy, who took his first roadtest in a sparkling 2018 Chevrolet Volt. Mr. Sheehy took the time to speak with guests, and express strong concerns for promoting hybrid, electric, and autonomous vehicles.

Event Description

Greetings from Northwest Ohio.  My name is Michael Hall, president of Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio.  Join us for the 2017 National Drive Electric Week ride-and-drive event.  This year's event returns to the beautiful Levis Commons complex in Perrysburg, Ohio.  The weather will be a mostly sunny sixty-five degree day; simply beautiful for this event.   Once again we will be located in a lot adjacent to Bar Louie restaurant, 4105 Levis Commons Blvd. , just a couple of blocks into the complex.

Come early, shop, dine, and enjoy the surroundings; make it an enjoyable day-trip.  Settle in at our "Electric Avenue" parking lot to speak with owners of hybrid, plug-in, and all-electric vehicles.  Look, see, touch, and drive these amazing vehicles!

Speak with the owners to fully understand the reasons they chose to purchase these alternative-fuel vehicles.  There are no salesman, no pressure to buy or lease; just owners who can explain the benefits of "driving electric".

Representative Michael Sheehy, a member of Ohio House of Representative, will be our special guest for this event.  Mr. Sheehy will be taking his first test-drive of a beautiful 2018 Chevy Volt around 1 PM.  This newly redesigned hybrid vehicle is graciously provided by Thayer Family Dealerships for our NDEW event.  This Bowling Green dealership has been a business partner with Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio for many years.

Please follow us through the "electricauto.org" web site for pictures of our past events.  Please consider joining EAA and becoming associated with our Northwest Ohio chapter.  We value your membership and participation!

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE!  There is likely to be lane closures on Dixie Highway just north of Levis Commons.  I suggest traveling I-75 and accessing SR582 a few miles to the south.  It will then be easy to take Dixie Highway northbound to access the Levis Commons site.  Hang in there, you can make it.

CHARGING!  We may also have on-site charging with 120V and possibly a 240V Clipper Creek EVSE generously offered on-loan for this event by a local business partner.

Looking forward to seeing you September 09!
