Event Report

We had a smaller event that we did our best to put together with limited time to prepare and promote. Tesla Model S & X, Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt were displayed in the parking lot from 5-6 pm. Then we went inside Bertucci's for two presentations.

Michael Craner, owner of a Tesla Roadster, Model S & Model X, discussed the technical and ethical challenges of developing the software for autonomous vehicles.

Tony Cotton, founder of Energy Conscious LLC and the owner of a Nissan Leaf, discussed the need to consider the holistic nature of clean energy systems and how to connect the dots between solar PV, EVs, and smart homes. Key points were:
• EVs are a key component of a clean energy future and are fun, clean and affordable
• Solar PV is also important and can power your EV with sunlight
• Market Penetration Caps are cleared with repurposed EV packs and Smart Power electronics
• Using DC directly leverages synergies of multiple technologies and most cost effective energy reductions

Event Description

Come join us to celebrate National Drive Electric Week and learn more about electric vehicles, solar energy, and smart homes.
We will hear Michael Craner, owner of all three Tesla models produced so far - Roadster, S & X - present Why your autonomous EV must be programmed to kill you!  Michael will discuss the amazing work that Tesla is doing with autonomous vehicles and share some insights on the benefits of EVs.  He also has solar panels on his home's roof and geothermal heating and cooling so he brings hands-on knowledge about these important technologies.

Tony Cotton, founder of Energy Conscious and the owner of a Nissan Leaf, will follow Michael with his presentation on Solving the Home Energy Puzzle by utilizing solar panels, electric vehicles, and home area networks to implement fuel free energy systems that are clean, safe and sustainable.

We plan to have a Tesla Model X, Nissan Leaf, and Chevy Volt on display in the parking lot from 5-6 pm and have additional information on the benefits of EVs and solar panels.  Arrive anytime after 5 pm to network and see the EVs.  Michael and Tony will present at 6 pm and then you are welcome to network and/or have dinner or drinks with fellow renewable energy and EV enthusiasts.

Bertucci's is located on Lancaster Avenue in Wayne and is a five minute walk from Septa's Strafford train station on the Paoli-Thorndale line.  There's ample parking behind Bertucci's.
