Mayor of Solvang, California, Jim Richardson, owner of a Chevy Volt attended. He told us his City Council adopted a clean air, clean vehicle campaign that resulted in the first installation of charge stations in Santa Barbara County. Santa Barbara County Planning Commissioner for the Third District and Third District Supervisoral candidate, Joan Hartmann, a Tesla Model S owner attended. Extremely successful and well attended show by the general public. Of the 10 cars on display, 9 were separate, all-electric models. Venue was a high traffic tourist destination. Attendees were from all over the world in addition to the United States.

All attendees and volunteers are required to wear face masks whenever they are within six feet of another person at all National Drive Electric Week 2022 events. For more information, see our in-person event safety requirements.Local Electric Vehicle owners will be available with their cars to tell you their experiences of EV ownership and operation. Late models on will include the Tesla Model S sedan, the Tesla Model X SUV (both with Autopilot), the Nissan Leaf and BMW i3! Join us and bring your questions about the EV world to our knowledgeable owners. A real, one-to-one, hands on opportunity for you to learn the benefits of EV ownership and see the vehicles inside and out. EVs have fast acceleration, silent running, immediate pedal response, zero jerking motion or vibrating and improved braking. EVs run virtually maintenance-free and have good to excellent safety ratings. Good for you, good for the environment, and beneficial to your bottom line. Consider never having to pay for gasoline, oil or major repairs again! Presented locally by the Los Padres Chapter Sierra Club.
