We so so excited! After our successful dedication of Somers’ first public electric vehicle charging stations, we are pleased to host the National Drive Electric Week in Somers. This year’s showcase has two ways to participate. An electric car showcase in the Four Town Fair Parade and a Electric Vehicle Rally along the parade route, near the Four Town Fairgrounds.

We encourage everyone to sign up regardless if you are bringing a plug-in vehicle, participating the parade or simply interested in electric vehicles. Don’t miss this opportunity to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle from Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan, and Volkswagen to see just how fun, fast, and quiet they really are. Before you shop for a new or used car talk to the owners of plug-in vehicles.

Event Schedule

There are two ways to participate in this year's National Drive Electric event in Somers:

Somers Four Town Fair Parade

We will be showcasing our EV’s in the Somers Four Town Fair Parade which attracts more than one-thousand spectators from Somers, Ellington, East Windsor, Enfield and surrounding areas. We will have parade marchers who will be passing out goodies with QR codes that direct folks to resources on Electric Vehicles. If you wish to have your vehicle present in the parade, please contact us by clicking this link and indicate you would like to participate in the parade portion of our event. All parade participants will receive free admission into the Four Town Fair. Be sure to get your hand stamped by a parade offical prior to the start of the parade. Electric Vehicle Rally

We will also feature an Electric Vehicle Rally featuring a number of electric vehicles to test drive from dealers such as Central Chevrolet of Springfield, MA, Decormier as well as private owners. Representatives from Solar City will also be available where you can find out more about clean ways to charge your vehicle and power your home or business.

Fair Parade 3 Hours

• 8:30 am - 9:00 am - Parade Load-In

  As of Sunday, September 11th, parade officials indicate that  EV parade participants should meet in the rear parking lot of the Somers Congregational Church located at: 599 Main St, Somers, CT no later then 9:00AM

• 10:00 am - Parade Launch

  The parade starts at the intersection of Main St. (Rt. 190) and South Rd proceeds down Field Road to the Four Town Fairgrounds.

• 11:00 am - EV Rally Load-In

  EV Rally participants split from the parade and join the EV rally located at 265 Field Road in Somers, CT which is located a short distance from the fairgrounds.

Electric Vehicle Rally 4 Hours

• 8:00 am - 9:30 am - EV Rally Setup

  Those EV drivers not particpating in the Four Town Parade portion of the event are welcome to join those directly at our the Rally in the Conval parking lot at 265 Field Road Somers, CT.

• 11:00 am - EV Rally Begins

  Parade participants arrive at the rally site.Ride and drives will be offered during this time.

• 2:00 pm - EV Rally Concludes

  .Participants are welcome to stay and enjoy the Four Town Fair. Remember parade participants receive free admission to the fair.
