Event Report

Syracuse "Drive and Shine" event was held on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 12-5 pm at the City of Syracuse parking lot at W. Washington Street and S. Salina St., in the heart of downtown. The lot has 15 charging stations that were installed several years ago by a private company that had received ARRA funds. The event included display of 15 electric vehicles, representing a wide variety of makes and models, 2 electric bicycles, and displays from 6 solar PV installers. In addition, Sunny 102 radio did a live broadcast from the event, there were four local musicians and two food trucks from local vendors. Several New York State legislators were in attendance and a representative of the Syracuse Common Council. Several local TV stations did live interviews and covered the event on their evening news programs. A company offered free car detailing services for our volunteers, and CarCharging/Blink offered free charging for the volunteers during the event.
